The Two Kinds of People On Earth

This week, I have learned that there are only 2 kinds of people on earth: Those I Love, and Those I Do Not Understand. And because of my experiences here in the mission, I have developed a deep deeper love for my own family.

So I hope I could tell you all the things that happened this week:

1. I felt the Spirit more as I applied what I have learned in my personal study of PMG Chapter 4 and my 12 weeks program review about the Role of the Holy Ghost in Conversion.
2. I had the most spiritual companionship inventory with Sister Solis last Friday. I love my companion.
3. We had a wonderful PEC Meeting last Friday. We all knelt down in the closing prayer. I love the Spirit so much.

I love being a missionary!

Zone conference on my birthday!

After zone conference, we ate at Morales Family!

Tatay George and Jimmy Boy!

So last Saturday, Tatay George Morales (the one I kept on telling you, how the coconuts roll!) was baptized. And yesterday, he was confirmed and was ordained to priesthood. He is about to finish the book of Alma. And his daughter and youngest son will be baptized on 14th. I love Tatay George so much and the whole family of Morales. Their sons and daughters are going to be awesome missionaries someday.

Jimmy Boy Telan (13 years old) has been baptized last Saturday, too. And when he bore his testimony he said : “I did not accept the invitation to be baptized because my cousins told me to do so, not even because of the missionaries. I accepted the invitation to be baptized because it is the right thing to do. And I know that this Church is true. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. . . And even if I am the only member in our family, I will stay as a good example to my siblings and to my parents.” And guess what, her mother and siblings went to church yesterday! And Jimmy Boy is so handsome with his suit and tie yesterday! I love this kid so much!

And another miracle happened. The Cacal Family, went to church yesterday! They are the family we just met along the road last February 1, when all of our appointments in that village were panted. And, and, and! He got a very spiritual experience in the elders’ quorum class. He said that the lesson in EQ was perfectly made for him. It was exactly what he needed. And it so happened that our stake president sat beside him, and encouraged him to continue accepting us, missionaries. And now, he’s looking forward for the day that he together with his family will be sealed for time and for all eternity.

It was a tough week, but I am happy to say, it’s better than before.

I love this area. I love this ward. I love my companion (Yes, I do!) And I love being a missionary!

New Companion: Sister Solis!

I just want everyone to know that I love my follow-up trainer Sister Solis. In one week with her, I have learned so many things from her. Having her as my companion makes me feel Heavenly Father knows me so well.

I thank Heavenly Father for Sister Solis for helping me learn how to set BALANCED goals. She taught me the importance of teaching people not lessons. Before I was so worried in trying to cover all the lessons. But because of my follow-up trainer, I have learned that it doesn't matter if the pacing of teaching is slow. Having them understand the lesson is what's important. She has also taught me the difference betweent finding efforts (FE) and effective finding (EF). She has taught me a more effective and efficient way of weekly planning. I have learned and I continue to learn from her.

Miracles:
1. Tatay George went to church for the 4th time straight! And Willieboy, his son went to chruch for the 7th time straight! Baptism on 14th!

2. During one of our lessons with an investigator, I had experienced once again how the Spirit uses our mouth to teach. Okay, I have no time to explain what happened, but it was a memorable experience for me!

3. Last Sunday was the most effective ward council meeting ever happened in this ward. The ward missionaries are awesome. They reported on their work for the very first time. Reporting is so important, because "when performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates" The prophet said it!

4. Nanay Virginia, the wife of Tatay George, shared to their neighbors about her experience in going to the true church. She said that she felt something different. She said that she learned so many things and that she has never felt like it in other churches she has attended to. So we bore our testimony that it was the Holy Ghost testifying to her that our message is true. After Tatay and Willieboy, we will be focusing to the rest of the members of the Morales Family. I love this Eternal Family.

I love my area. I love my follow-up trainer. I love being a missionary!

I love my follow-up trainer!

I just want everyone to know that I love my follow-up trainer Sister Solis. Looking for the good in my companion increases the love I have for her. In one week with her, I have learned so many things from her. Having her as my companion makes me feel that Heavenly Father knows me so well. She’s very straightforward, which is one of her attributes that I want to emulate. I want to be able to have the courage to say what I want to say like her. But at the same time, I want to have a balance between having loving kindness and being firm in the truth.

I thank Heavenly Father for Sister Solis for helping me learn how to set BALANCED goals. She taught me the importance of using fully and wisely the hour of personal study and companion study each day. She has taught me the importance of language study. She has taught me the importance of teaching people, not lessons. Before, I was so worried in trying to cover all the lessons. But because of my follow-up trainer, I have learned that it doesn’t matter if the pacing of teaching is slow. Having them understand the lesson is what’s important.  She has also taught me what is the difference between finding efforts (FE) and effective finding (EF).
